Activities for home - I spy history

Try this...

1. Go for a walk round your local area, or nearby town.

2. Look for old buildings, dates, statues and monuments, wall plaques and street names.

3. How many clues to the past can you find?

4. Score 1 point for clues dating from the 20th century.
   2 points for clues from Victorian times.
   3 points for clues from earlier times.

5. Keep a record of your score.

What was it like to live here in the past?

Talk to a grown-up who grew up here. Ask them what they remember about their childhood here.

Here are some questions you could ask:

Where was your house?
Where did you go to school?
How did you get to school?
Where did you play?
Where did you go shopping?
How do you think the area has changed since you were little?
