Q. What is dramatic irony?
Dramatic Irony occurs when the audience is aware of something that the character on stage is not aware of. A classic example is in "Othello" where Othello thinks that Iago is his friend. The audience, however has witnessed other scenes where Iago has spoken of his hatred for Othello and his intention to destroy him.
